Our Mission Statement

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in our relationship with you, our client. We endeavor to know and understand your financial situation and provide you with only the highest quality information, services, and products to help you reach your goals.

Q: Who is the Public Safety Financial Group (PSFG)?

A: The PSFG is a team of dedicated financial professionals who provide comprehensive financial services, on a fee or non-fee basis, for public safety departments, public safety individuals and municiplalities.  Our team of professionals focuses on understanding the specific siutaion of each or our clients, including the specific department's/municipalites benefits, therefore allowing us to provide each client with a customized financial analysis. The PSFG offers extensive financial services including investment/money management, life/health/disability insurance planning and product strategies, individual (Traditional and Roth IRA's) and group retirement (457, 403b, 401a, 401k, and Pension) plans and planning, business succession and benefit planning, education planning, estate planning, and overall financial strategies.  Our goal...empower our public safety and municipal clients to make quality, and informed financial decisions over the course of their lives.

Q: What makes us different?

A: The service is built specifically on helping public safety employees and municipalities.  How do we do that?  The five pillars of success...A-B-C-D-E.

A...AXA Advisors, LLC.   AXA provides us with all of the resources necessary to give a great service to our clients.  We are a financial services company first, which means we can work on an open architecture format, in turn allowing us to draw upon the resources of several hundred investment and insurace companies.  This gives our clients choices that many companies can not provide.  It also allows us to provide an investment platform that is large enough to provide large-scale retirement plans (437, 403b, 401k, 401a, pensions, etc), while at the same time offering a comprehensive personal financial services platform for our individual clients.

B...Benefits.  We are committed to researching and understanding the specific department/municipality benefits of our clients long before we ever sit down in the first meeting with a client from that department.  We accomplish this by spending the necessary time on line, and with key HR personnel, thus allowing us to clearly communicate our knowledge of their benefits to each of our clients.  We continually update our research as the benefit structure changes.  One of our professionals has actually read the entire FPPA manual several times!

C...Culture.  This may be the most important part of our service.  Simply stated, it is the experience we bring in working with public safety departments and municipalities for over five years.  We have made hundreds of visits to fire stations in the exisiting departments that we currently serve.  We also serve many clients within the law enforcement as well.  It does not qualify us to say we are part the public safety family, but we do feel that we qualify to have a solid understanding of the shared concerns, both financial and otherwise, of those that serve in the public safety/municipal sector.  Simply stated, we understand things that are important to our public safety clients.

D...Directors.  Directors could be any number of different individuals depending on each individual department/municipality.  These include Police/Fire Chiefs, Sheriffs, Union presidents, Pension Boards, fire house captains, police shift commanders, and HR directors.  Our commitment is to maintain contact with these people on a quarterly basis.  Why is this important?  Because we feel it is a privilege to be working with municipal personnel in the first place.   Therefore, as a good business practice, we feel it is very important to keep these important decision makers informed on our service within their departments, while at the same time seeking feedback on how we can improve the service in the future.

E...Education.  We commit ourselves to on-going and updated financial education for our clients.  We often base these follow up educational presentations on the feedback we have received from our existing clients in the departments.  Our goal is to provide seminars on three different financial topics, per department/municipality, per year.  Some of these subjects include, but are not limited to asset allocation, current market/economic conditions, education planning, pension education and planning, insurance planning, ABC's of investing, specific topics for small business owners, and estate planning.

The A-B-C-D-E model covers the basics of why we provide a great service.  In addition to the pillars of success, we as a group, have committed to staying involved with the public safety associations on a sponsorship level.  In the past three years we have sponsored the Colorado State Fire Chief's Association as a Silver Sponsor, the Burn Foundation, the first annual West Metro Retirement Fair, and the Denver Metro Chiefs.  In 2008, our group played a major role in sponsoring the International Association of Fire Chief's Conference here in Denver.  While fire sponsorship is important, we also look into similar sponsorship opportunities within law enforcement such as the Colorado Association of Police Chiefs, and the County Sheriff's Association of Colorado.

One last thing that cannot be overlooked is our exceptional group of financial professionals.  We all bring individual strengths to the team, that enhance the greater good of the PSFG, which in turn is a benefit passed on to our clients.  There are currently six key professionals within our group, and several more associate professionals we use to oversee the large retirement plans we offer and set up for the departments/municipalities.
